What is the best procedure to make a long face shorter and more proportional? (Photos)

Hello,Thanks for your question and your photos. They are helpful. If you feel your face is long, there aren't any easy ways to make it shorter. You, however, can give yourself the illusion that it is shorter and more proportional in a number of ways. One recommendation I could give you would be a hairline lowering procedure to shorten your forehead. This could be coupled with filler for your cheeks to widen them a bit, or cheek implants. Finally, if you feel your chin is too prominent, then a chin bone shaving procedure could be performed to decrease the vertical height a few millimeters. But, because you have a small chin on profile view, you may still need a small chin implant to maintain projection.It would be best for you to consult with a specialist in facial cosmetic surgery for an in-person evaluation and more information.Good luck,Dr. Shah

If you’re not sure you’re ready for surgery, but still want to improve and strengthen your chin and profile, I’d suggest augmenting your chin with Sculptra and/or Voluma. If you like your new look, you can make it permanent with a chin implant. Cost will vary with each procedure, but a chin implant gives you a permanent solution. I hope this helps.

Fro the one very limited side photograph, it appears that there is a weak and a recessive chin profile for which a chin implant could improve.  Chin implants are manufactured in a large array of both sizes and shapes.  A thorough in-person examination is going to be required to make clear determination about what is going to be needed.   For many examples of what chin implants can accomplish, please see the link and the video below

The two procedures that are effective for vertical facial shortening are forehead reduction (by hairline advancement) and chin shortening. (by vertical osteotomy) Computer imaging can show you the effects of either alone or in combination.
