What promotes healing after facial fat grafting?

Good question. I will commonly prescribe a very brief course of steroids following fat transfer. Some of my patients also choose to take Arnica, a natural supplement, that seems to help reduce swelling and bruising after surgery. And of course icing will help with the swelling, 20 mins of then 20 mins off. I would recommend talking to your surgeon to find out what he or she ultimately recommends. Hope this helps!

Time. Depending on the location and amount of fat transferred there will be varying  degrees of swelling following the procedure. Patience is the best treatment. As for the second part of your question: if you want to kill most if not all of the transferred fat as well as delay healing in general then smoke during recovery.
