Can you advise on gummy bears or silicone safety?

Question

I'm considering getting implants but not sure i want to commit to another surgery in the future of getting them removed or replaced. One very reputable doctor i had a consult with said the gummy bears have just been fda approved to not have to be removed, but i can't find any literature on that. Then another reputable surgeon said that gummy bears were recalled and linked to lymphoma and won't use them. So now i question their safety and if they really are approved for a lifetime.

there have been numerous studies on the safety and efficacy of silicone breast implants. The FDA has approved them to be safe and breast augmentation is the most common cosmetic surgical procedure performed in the United States every year. Implants are much different than they used to be with rigorous testing and cohesive gel. I can't tell you how happy my breast augmentation patients have been with their implants.
I would recommend a consult with a plastic surgeon to go over all of your concerns. Saline implants are also a perfectly good option if you are still concerned and are less expensive.

I prefer the smooth round implants for great results and fewer long term risks.  Plus, the gummy implants are much firmer, and I prefer the more natural feel of softer implants.  Allergan textured implants on the shelf, not in patients, were recalled by the FDA. Other companies' textured implants have not been recalled. The FDA does not recommend that women with Allergan textured implants have them removed if they have no problems. The lymphoma associated with textured implants is a low risk. A little over 700 cases have been reported worldwide in over 35,000,000 women with implants.
