There are many causes of snoring and nasal noises while asleep. The list ranges from environmental allergies to a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, chronic sinus disease and nasal valve collapse. There are also other causes such as sleep apnea and nasal tumors. It is important for you to see an ENT specialist for an examination to determine the source of your concerns.

Noise the nose makes while sleeping

Normal nasal breathing requires some degree of resistance through the nose.  Lack of resistance will result in an empty nose syndrome with atrophic rhinitis.  An over resistant airflow passageway can be caused by a combination of a deviated septum, large turbinates, or valve collapse.
