Can Rhinoplasty discolor your skin months after surgery? (photos)

It is possible to have a change in the skin color after rhinoplasty.  It can happen even months afterwards.  Any trauma to the nasal skin can lead to this.  Before we start treating the skin it is very important to make sure you do not have any underlying infection or irritation.  An implant underneath can also cause irritation.Once you have been examined by your surgeon and there is no evidence of nasal infection or irritation by an implant then you can see a dermatologist for treatment of the skin with bleaching creams and strict sun protection to help with the situation.  If it does not improve then during winter months you can undergo IPL treatments to reduce the discoloration.RegardsDr. J

Thank you very much for sharing your concerns about your Rhinoplasty with us.Congratulations for having patience and wait more tha six months PO, which is the recommended time allowed to make judgments of value and be precise and accurate.After having analyzed all the info and photos provided to us, i recommend to perform a Secondary Rhinoplasty (not a tip revision) this means (basically) treat the nasal bones and the nasal cartilages.Therefore i would perform a narrowing of the nasal base (nose osteotomy) and alar and triangular cartilage shaping.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
