Hello Peaceful210294, thank you for your question regarding having undergone 4500 hair graft transplantation seven months ago and still having a hair density issue on the top of your head. If the density bothers you, I would suggest several PRP injections. If the PRP injections do not get you the optimal hair growth density results, then I would suggest more hair transplants. For your hair transplant revision, I would suggest the follicular unit extraction technique (FUE). During FUE, single hairs are harvested and transplanted. I hope that I have answered your question regarding hair density issue on the top of your head seven months after hair transplantation. Thank you. Sincerely, Dr. J. Timothy Katzen, MD.
First of all, I think it's important to understand that it takes about one year for full results to be evaluated. But I also warn all my patients that we will never be able to achieve the degree of density in the transplanted area that you have in your native hair. Often times, patients will have a second procedure in order to improve density. This is often more successful after the first procedure has had a chance to heal fully. I hope this helps.
Are you using other prescription treatments or laser cap? Have you had any PRP sessions after your transplant?
Hello, there is no problem with having a hair transplant when you regularly take small doses of methylprednisolone/corticosteroids. You can still have a hair transplant when you are using methylprednisolone/corticosteroids.
The point that should not be missed here is “how does one diagnose hair loss anyways?” We diagnose hair loss by reviewing the full story of the patient’s hair loss and medical history together with a full scalp examination. None of these have been outlined here so all that we have is trich...
I think you would be a good candidate for topical prescriptions at this point to try to halt hair loss. Please contact me with any questions.
