I had two MiraDry procedures done. I notice now that I sweat very easily on my forehead. Is this compensatory sweating?

It is unlikely that you are experiencing any compensatory sweating, since 1%-2% of your sweat glands are located in your underarms. Often just one miraDry treatment provides up to 82% reduction in sweating. (In some persistent cases, a follow-up treatment is beneficial.) Since the body does not make new sweat glands, once they are destroyed, results are permanent. Thank you for your question.  Miradry treatment under your arms only removes about 1% of you sweat glands.  It should not cause any increase in sweating elsewhere.  I suspect it is more of a case of noticing the most bothersome area still present.  When you were sweating more under your arms this is the focus and when this occurred you would alter what you were doing to decrease sweating, now that is not happening you now begin sweating elsewhere before you alter what you are doing.Jeffrey Thaxton, MD FACSCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

It should not really affect sweating to your face as only 1-2% of sweat glands are in your underarms. It is possible that you notice this more since you aren't sweating under your arms any more?
