I'm considering Fraxel 1550 with 5 treatments for under eye wrinkles and crows feet. Will a low setting minimize downtime?

Low treatment levels will have less downtime but require more treatments for optimal outcomes.  I suggest seeing an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question.  5 treatments of 1550 seems pretty aggressive for someone with basically good skin.  That being said a series of 5 treatments with a 3 to 6 month break after the completion of the 5th treatment is fairly common.  Another option requiring less treatments that you may consider would be the Sciton Halo as this will likely only require 1-2 treatments with minimal downtime and excellent results.  Please be evaluated in person and discuss with your board certified Dermatologist your goals and anticipated outcomes.  Regards, Dr. Matt Elias

Here, in this video I review the Fraxel 1927 and 1550 laser. I think it is an excellent laser for pigment, sun spots, and rejuvenation in lighter skin types. I think the 1550 works OK with scar and wrinkles, but it is not the best. Other treatments in can provide a better outcome with less downtime- such as micro needling RF with PRP.See video for review on Fraxel and how it is best employed. All the best,
