Is it safe to get lip injections, over top of lip implants, such as permalip? Will it rupture the implant?

While there have been saline filled lip implants, the Permalip (Perma Facial Implant) is a solid silicone implant that cannot be ruptured (though it may be possible to make a hole in the surface with a needle).  Hyaluronic acid fillers can be safely placed more superficially in the lip to either further increase the size, or more finely sculpt the final appearance / shape of the lip.It would be advisable to tell the physician injecting your lips the type of implant that is present.Best wishes.

  Certainly.  Your question is an astute one, and this situation is not uncommon.  But having lip implants is not, in my opinion, a contraindication to further augmentation with injectables.  It would be prudent to notify the person who is giving the injections of the presence of implants.  Good luck!

You can not rupture Permalip implants with injections. They are a solid but soft form of silicone elastomer. Injectable fillers can be safely placed above the level of the implants in the lip.
