I'm thinking about getting botox or something on my jawline to slim my round face, and a chin filler to help fix and convex side profile. I don't think my chin recedes enough to need an implant, but I do feel that my chin causes me to have a convex side profile. I'm getting rhinoplasty this month to fix a deviated septum and slightly hooked nose, but I'm worried it may emphasize my convex face shape. What would be my best options for face slimming and chin fillers?

Answer: Botox to Thin Round Face Botox can be injected into the muscle (masseter muscle) on the jaw to shrink the muscle. This can narrow and angulate the lower face. This will work only if you have large masseter muscle. This can be appreciated during an examination.I like the shape and structure of your chin. I do not feel strongly that you need augmentation to this area.I hope this helps.

Answer: Will Botox on my jawline help slim a round face? Would botox work w/ some kind of chin filler to correct convex profile? Thank you for sharing your questions and photographs. Botox can be used to help slim a woman's face by atrophying the masseter muscles, the muscles towards that back of your jaw that help you chew food. Possible enlargement of the muscles is best determined during an in-person examination. Fillers can be used to temporarily improve the appearance and size of a woman chin which can dramatically change their profile view. It also tends to have additional benefits of improved jawline definition. Be sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon for these injections in order to maximize your results. Hope this helps!

Answer: Botox If the master muscle appears large than botox may be helpful to thin the lower third of your face. Remember it may take more than one treatment and it will need to be repeated regularly to maintain the result.

Answer: Will Botox on my jawline help slim a round face? Hi, Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces. Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front. Cheek augmentation using a dermal filler (I prefer Restylane Lyft) or with cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks anteriorly that will feminize the entire face. From the photos your cheeks are a bit flat anteriorly, even when smiling which means they are lacking the front projection to creat a heart shaped face. Dermal filler or cheek implants will change the round face into a heart shaped one. The photos also show that the chin is weak. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face appear shorter which de-emphasizes the shape and fullness of the lips. Chin augmentation, using a chin implant, will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found placing a silastic chin implant through a small, curved, incisions under the chin to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty that requires bone cuts with placement of screws and metal plates. Hope this helps.
