Possible infection following chin implant? (photos)

I had a chin implant inserted 16 days ago. Today I woke up feeling a bit under the weather (sore throat, fatigued) and have noticed that I have a rash at the corner of my jaw bone on both sides of my face and at my corner of my eye. The area around my chin looks normal. Does this look like it could be a possible infection related to chin implant or a separate skin condition? My right lip is still numb after the procedure in case this could be relevant (it is worrying to me).

Thank you for your question and the photos.Sorry to hear that you are not feeling too well. The numbness in the lip is quite normal at this stage after the procedure. I do not think the rash would be directly connected to the chin implant, but seeing as you are not feeling too well at the moment it is best to seek medical advice. Good luck

Digital photos are not a substitute for an examination, but the rashes you demonstrate in your photos may not be a sign of chin implant infection.When chin implants become infected, there is usually pain, swelling, and skin redness overlying the implant.Numbness of the lower lip is common after chin implant surgery and usually subsides with time.Hope this helps you.Dr Joseph
