Prognosis and how should my open wounds be treated from thigh lift surgery and what can I expect going forward? (Photo)

A wound separation is unfortunate but does happen.  Conservative wound management is all that can be done until the area heals by secondary intention.  

Dear Kristigrant,usually clean open wounds will heal eventually. However, the wound on your right side will need a revision surgery for closing, otherwise it will take many weeks to heal with an unsightly scar. All the best

I'm sorry to hear about your thigh wounds.  It is not uncommon for there to be areas that open up or are slow to heal, following a thigh lift.  In most cases these wounds will heal and close on their own if good local wound care is performed.  From your photos, I don't see any signs of infections or significant problems that may delay wound healing.  In most cases the pain from an open wound should decrease significantly in the first week or two.  Be certain to follow your surgeon's recommendations regarding wound care and let them know of any signs of infection - redness, fever, etc.   With luck these wounds should close substantially in the next 2 to 3 weeks.  Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
