I would suggest giving yourself 4-6 weeks. This allows your body plenty of time to make new blood cells and heal from the abdominoplasty. Do realize that immediately after the arm lift you wont be able to use your arms significantly you will therefore have to use your abdominal core muscles to get out of bed and move around. Since you recently had an abdominolplasty this may be slightly painful. If you are very “sensitive” to pain, I would suggest waiting as long as possible between two surgeries.
The standard answer for how long to wait between surgeriesis “It depends…” from purely a safety standpoint you should wait at least 1month so that the risk of blood clots is reduced… Two general anestheticswithin a month of each other greatly increases the risk of blot clots that canlead to pulmonary emboli or even death. Also, atummy tuck is a relatively big procedure and it takes a while to get healed andback on your feet… it is really best to wait until you are fully recovered andback on your feet before going ahead with another surgery – That usually meansabout 3 months. It also depends on whichsurgery you need- if it is just lipo, then that is a lot less invasive andcould probably be considered a little sooner. A brachioplasty is a lot bigger procedure and has longer, tougherrecuperation so you probably want to wait a little longer to be ready for thatbigger intervention (but it also gets a more dramatic result)! It also depends on how you heal from thetummy tuck… if things go great you can be right on schedule, but if there areany setbacks in healing then you may need to adjust your timeline. If youhave not had your tummy tuck yet you may also consider doing a combinedprocedure with your tummy and arms at the same time! This would mean only one anesthetic and onlyone recovery, but do plan on a little longer recovery to get over both.Doing surgeries together also means asignificant cost savings (which always helps)!Good luck with your surgeries.
You should be able toschedule a second surgery once you are fully physiologically recovered. This is generallyaround 3 months after the tummytuck.
Thank you for your question. There are two considerations 1) are you able to transfer in and out of bed or a chair without your arms and 2) It takes abou 4 weeks for the risks of a blood clot to go back to normal after a general anesthetic procedure such as a tummy tuck. Once these two issues are addressed, you should be ready to go.
Once you can get up and down without using your arms, you are safe to proceed. If you already had surgery, you should discuss this with your surgeon and go by his/her recommendations.
Hello, and thank you for this question. There are several factors that should enter into this decision. Your overall general health and how are you recovery from your abdominoplasty procedure would be of the utmost importance. I would recommend at least a minimum of 4 weeks following these procedures. Some patients may need longer depending upon their recovery. Discussed all of these issues with a qualified board certified plastic surgeon who has expertise in body contour procedures. Best of luck with this decision.

Your wounds need to be dry and closed, and you need to be able to get out of bed and chairs without too much pressure on your arms. Most by 6 weeks could schedule a second surgery.
Thanks for your question. Ultimately it will depend on how quickly you recover from the tummy tuck procedure. In my experience, patients are usually ready to schedule their secondary procedure around 3 months after tummy tuck surgery.
I recommend waiting until you have recovered from the tummy tuck. In general, wait at least 3 months.
From your history and pictures, it's evident you have excess skin and a bit of fat in the armpit area, commonly referred to as "dog ears" post arm lift. This can be revised by surgically removing the excess. Such a procedure can typically be done under local anesthesia in a doctor's office, with...
