You certainly can have saline injected into your cheeks. This is good way to "try on" longer-lasting cheek fillers or simulate a cheek implant. The results are very short-lived, however. Likely within one day the augmentation will have resolved. Another option to simulate a cheek augmentation result is video-imaging that does not require you to undergo any actual procedure but digitally simulates the anticipated result. I hope this information is helpful.Stephen Weber MD, FACS
Saline cheek injections prior to fillers or implants is in fact what I often do for patients who are undecided. The cost is somewhat less than the cost of a filler.
Certainly you can do saline trial injections before using longer-lasting fillers. It will only give a very short time to see the cheek augmentation effect (less than six hours in most cases) but that is certainly a very safe approach.
Saline can be injected first to give you a better idea of the effect of fillers in your cheeks, but it is very temporary. However, if that makes you feel more comfortable before having fillers put in, it may be worthwhile to pursue.
it is possible to undergo saline injections into the cheek, however there very temporary and they do give a good idea of what fillers or an implant might look like. Fillers are also temporary. If you're looking for a permanent solution to cheek augmentation consider placing cheek implants.
I think that injecting Saline temporarily is a great way to get an idea of what a filler or implant would look like. If you happen to love it, you can proceed with something more long lasting. If not, it goes away pretty quickly. Hope this helps.
You can have saline injected before doing a filler (I prefer Perlane) for cheek augmentation or you can have a consult with a plastic and cosmetic surgeon that understands and follows the proper aesthetics of facial beauty and see if filler is even recommended.
I have done this a number of times over the years and find it is sometimes helpful in making a decision to have filler or fat injections or a cheek implant.
Yes, it is possible to use saline to fill an area to see if this is what you want to do. This is actually a suggested method of determining what to do about the eyelid area. The only problem is that saline is absorbed almost as soon as it is injected. This also takes extra time and some practitioners may charge for it.
A combination approach would give the most improvement. Deep wrinkles and smile lines can be improved with a combination of Botox and/or fillers for the lines themselves and to build anatomical support with Sculptra for collagen building. Ultherapy is a great skin tightening device, but works...
Cheek implants give good general fill to the midface area but may not completely correct the need for more volume. In these cases additional volume using injectable fillers is a great way to 'top off' the original cheek augmentation. I have seen not problems from doing this procedure and...
Dear sissy88, We have never had any issues related to sleep positioning and filler complications. I would suggest that a good night's sleep is worth the risks, whatever they may be.
