Can I get my chin implant repositioned?

Hi, I got a chin implant on Tuesday and the swelling has finally came down (Friday). I noticed that the left side is not aligned properly with my jaw and feels a little too low and I can feel the tail of the implant. What is the next steps? Would I have to undergo surgery again? Or would this be easily shifted back into place? I have my post op on Wednesday and can't see my PS until then since he will be out of town. I am really nervous. Please advise. Thanks!

There will normally be a fair amount of swelling after placement of a chin implant and this usually lasts for a few months.  Swelling is not always the same on both sides, and this can cause the chin to not appear symmetric.  The appearance of your chin in the first week after surgery is not indicative of your final result.  I would recommend discussing your concern, about your implant not being properly aligned, when you are at your follow up appointment with your surgeon.  Your surgeon can evaluate you to see if there is any problem.  There is nothing that needs to be done immediately, but if the implant is in the incorrect position, it can be adjusted.  This normally would require another surgical procedure though.
