two weeks after my vaser lipo i have a long haul flight scheduled, it is important that i go. Considering i am taking all the correct healing measures prior to flight (manual lymph massage, pressure garment, etc) is it okay that i fly two weeks after? i plan to walk up and down the aisle so as to not stay seated too long. the flight is 9 hours. thank you!
Answer: Vaser Liposuction Thanks for the question. You should be able to flying by 2-3 weeks after your surgery. If any unexpected incident happens in your treatment process, this time can be extended or shortened. I wish you all the best.

Answer: Flight after Vaser liposuction Hi, 2 weeks after surgery is too soon for you to go on a flight. Pain and discomfort won't completely go away because some swelling and bruising may persist for 6-8 weeks. It varies greatly between patients. Yes, light exercises such as walking is recommended after two or three weeks to minimize #adhesion between skin and deeper tissue, but if the flight is 9 hours you will still stay in one position most of the time. Activity is largely dependent upon how the patient feels. It is mostly based on the level of soreness or bruising that you may experience and you won't know until then how your body will react after the procedure.Check more info on recovery on the web reference below. I hope your concern was addressed. #RealSelf100

Answer: Flight after VASER You've already had the surgery and knew that you needed to take a long flight 2 weeks after your surgery. Did you disclose this to your surgeon? did your surgeon say it was OK? you are saying "it is important that I go". so what is the question? You should definitely not go. Absolutely not go. There is no way you can "plan to walk up and down the isle". Its not up to you. You may be stuck for hours on the tarmac or the flight attendants forbid you from getting up and walking around. Its not a park, its a plane. If you end up sitting for 3,4,6 or 8 hours you will likely end up with deep indentation. I would also never recommend wearing the compression for a flight that long as it will indent deeper. Also, post-lipo care is very different than lymphatic massage. You absolutely should not have "lymphatic massage" after lipo as your lymphatics are disrupted and the massaging is much more superficial and aims to drain the serous fluid out of the body and not to the lymph nodes as lymphatic massage attempts to do as in lymphedema due to trauma or neoplastic pathology / treatment. Post-lipo message or C.A.R.E. technique is done the first 2-3 week while lymphatics are recovering. real lymphatic massage is only done after 4-6 weeks if there is evidence of residual lymphedema due to delayed lymphatic recovery. Otherwise, lymphatic massage in the first 3 weeks will further traumatize and inflame the tissue and cause more serous fluid production.
