Should I use saline or hydrogen peroxide to clean my nose after a septorhinoplasty?

I had a septorhinoplasty surgery done and this is my second week going. Should I use Saline or Hydrogen Peroxide to clean my nose after a septorhinoplasty? As far as I know, H2O2 is a germ killer but not saline? Thanks

I recommend that my patients use both. I recommend that they use hydrogen peroxide along the incision lines to help clean up dried blood gently and I have them use a saline spray to help keep the dried mucus and dry blood from building up in the nose. Talk to your surgeon about what specific instructions you should be falling. Good luck in your healing!

Hydrogen peroxide is great for cleaning around sutures and getting rid of dried blood.  Saline can also be used.  Contact your surgeon’s office for instructions on cleaning the nose.
