Can microneedling (with dermaroller) reverse laser damage? (Photos)

Are these laser damage issue (textural, newly formed indented scars) could be treated w/ microneedling (with dermaroller)? Is it possible just to have the treatment only within the problematic area? would it cause uneven texture & tone with the un-treated surrounding? what would be the worst case scenario with microneedling (with dermaroller) in my case? I am too afraid to get another laser treatments or even dermapen w/ RF due to my past experience even w/ V-Beam laser

If you have a history of scar/keloid formation please be sure to let your provider know. Otherwise,microneedling should not cause any scaring.  It is a great procedure to enhance tone and texture of the skin. Pts are very happy after this procedure

This is unlikely to have much benefit. However, I always combine microneedling with prp and lasers to get the best outcomes. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hello and thank you for your answer. I assume that you had some redness after the treatment and probably were exposed to the sun more the you should have been.  The resolution of the post inflammatory hyperpigmentation can take up to 5-6 months.  Best,Oxana Popescu MD

I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for recommendations for after care and skin care. With microneedling, I always combine prp and lasers to get the most robust results. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Hello and thank you for your question. The swelling post microneedling after 8 days is unusual.  Prednisone is a good anti inflammatory drug and it can be used safely for short periods of time. Best, Oxana Popescu MD
