Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. For surgical incisions that are not flat and discreet following surgery, I recommend using a CO2 laser between 4-6 months. It make take more than one treatment.
It generally takes 2-6 months for the swelling to resolve after liposuction. Once the swelling fully resolves, then you can consider the laser treatment for the surgical scar.
It can take 3-6 months for swelling to resolve after liposuction. Scars usually mature around the year mark and can be improved with a combination approach of Silagen + Bioshield to promote healing, lasers and microneedling/prp. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Great question! It can easily take 6 months after liposuction for all your swelling to resolve and for you to see your final results. That being said, there is very good research that if you are trying to improve a surgical or other scar, you can make the biggest difference if you start early. It's hard to tell you the best path without seeing pictures, or better yet seeing you in person, but for many surgical scars, with the approval of your surgeon, you can start treating within a few weeks of the procedure with a combination of BBL and fractional resurfacing if your skin type allows.
You can take laser scar reduction session after complete healing of the scar . most of the wound if not complicated generally heals within 4 weeks as you have mentioned that scar after liposuction you want to treat , generally most of the swelling subside around 4 weeks time , so after that you can start fractional co2 laser or microneedling RF treatment . also you should consult your operating surgeon before starting the treatment

Start with Plato's Scar Serum, Kenalog IIT, followed by laser therapy. There is a small chance you may need surgical scar revision. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
The cyst scars may be difficult to improve. I would use Plato's Scar Serum, Melarase PM, and fractional lasers for the breast stretch marks and scars. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles
