Itchy nose after rhinoplasty?

Question

I am now 4 months post and my nose is super itchy specially on the tip and my columella. I wash my face with water and a soft cleanser but it doesn’t help at alll! Is there a safe cream I could use?

It is common to see itching during surgery healing as the nerve endings regrow into the skin.You should check in with your surgeon to make sure everything is healing properly and that nothing else is going on.

We recommend you seek repeat evaluation with your surgeon who can perform an examination and make sure you are continuing to heal well and do not have any issues like a retained stitch or skin irritation that are contributing to your itching issues. They or a dermatalogist can better examine your skin as well and make a recommendation on what skin care regimen may help.

See your surgeon for an evaluation.  Internal sutures that haven’t dissolved  may be causing the itching,
