So I have been using Cpap full face mask for the past 3 months. One night, in order to prevent leakage I might have tightened the mask causing this injury. The injury has fully healed, but unfortunately now I have this depressed nasal bridge scar. Kindly advise on the treatment? Should I go for a dermatologist?
Answer: Scar laser treatment to even out skin texture with possible subcision Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Scars on Body -- Vascular Lasers (Vbeam) / Fractional Laser (Co2, Halo, Fraxel) / emeragecosmetics AERIFY/ENLIGHTEN/COSMELAN this needs surgical removal and repair then lasers. peels should be performed before. Scars need aerify, enlighten, or Cosmelan peels post surgery. Vivatia foam, Restorsea 10x, skinceuticals phyto +, Cosmelan 2 cream, and reve skin fortified bleaching cream all help. no medical insurance covers keloid removal. you have a chance of recurrence with surgical removal but lasers can help reduce the look. there are many options for hypertrophic/red/discolored scars: 1. vascular lasers (yellow laser, vbeam, excel v) 2. fractional lasers (fraxel, erbium, co2) 3. microneedling/PRP 4. silicone based scar gels with growth factors 5. excision +/- radiation see an expert. Answer: Nose Scar Hello. Thank you for your question. Your scar is pretty deep and would require resurfacing to help improve it. You can do this with an ablative laser, such as the Aerolase Era. You would most likely need multiple treatments. You can also help improve the appearance by adding a thin filler to the area. Something like Belotero would work well for this area. The only problem will be that if the cpap continues to push on the area the filler may not last as long in that area.

Answer: Depressed scar I would recommend subcision of the scar to release it and placement of bellafill to prop up the skin. Another option is to have the scar cut out and replaced with a thin vertical line on your nose. Hope this helps! Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
