Can a basic umbilicoplasty procedure repair/remove ugly scar tissue left by navel piercings? (Photo)

Thank you for your question and photos.  whenever revising scars there is always some trade off of new scars for old ones.  An examination by a plastic surgeon would yeild the most useful information about your tissues, and potential for improvement.  If you do have a hernia would also have to be addressed.  I would recommend a face to face consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who has
experience in this area. During your visit your surgeon should be evaluating
your health and examining your tissues to get a sense of what your issues are

Yes an Umbilicoplasty will remove the scar tissue or skin above the belly button.  If there is any hernia it can be fixed at the same time.  A deep suture is then placed to create an innie belly button.  I use all dissolvable sutures usually so that the incision will look pretty. The cost is approximately $5,000. I prefer to do it under light sedation or general anesthesia so that my patients are comfortable.  Always look for a board certified plastic surgeon.  You will do very well. Good Luck!Andrew Cohen MD
