Is 20,000 a Reasonable Price for a Revision Rhinoplasty?

Cost of rhinoplasty can vary depending on the following:

1) Complexity of the surgery
2) The surgeon's experience
3) Geographic location of the patient.

More experienced surgeons generally charge more. Price really depends on the circumstances at hand, and there is really no way to say whether a procedure is "worth it." It's best to get a few opinions, and choose a surgeon you feel comfortable with that can deliver a great result. I hope this helps, and best of luck.

       That is quite high, but if a total reconstruction is needed this may be reasonable.  You can probably find this done for half of that as well.  Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of rhinoplasties and rhinoplasty revisions each year.  Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results.

This is a great question, and unfortunately does not have a clear answer. Not all rhinoplasties are created equally. And some variation is expected in prices, based on the technical difficulty, expertise of the surgeon, local cost norms, etc. In addition, revision surgery is more expensive.  All that said, this seems pretty high.

 The cost of a revision rhinoplasty is quite variable depending upon the surgeon's fee, anesthesia fee, the operating room/ Hospital where it's performed.  The cost also depends upon the length of the procedure and what is being performed, but 20 K sounds rather high. The cost of surgery, any surgery, can greatly vary and is dependent on the training and expertise of the surgeon, level of difficulty of the problem at hand, length of surgery, surgery center accreditation, quality of anesthesiologist, and what else is included (postoperative visits, postoperative kit, etc).

If you are going to the best of the best surgeon who is appropriately trained and board certified and the revision is quite difficult requiring multiple cartilage grafting for reconstructive components, this may be reasonable.  While this cost may seem high, it is difficult to say without assessing the situation; if there are reconstructive components, it may be reasonable.   Please consult with a facial plastic surgeon who is board certified who can assess the inside and outside of your nose and help assist you with achieving the results you seek.  Computer imaging will also help you visualize what you may look like after surgery.

Perhaps in your area, or perhaps there is something extremely complex about your revision. But that seems quite high for a standard revision. Best you see several consultants in your area and then you will get a feel for local fees.
