Why is there a lump from Botox in my chin and is there cause for concern? (Photo)

Hello and thank you for your question.  It is hard to say from a photo, but ultimately you should wait a full 2 weeks to make sure the Botox is fully active.  After the 2 weeks if this is still happening, you might benefit from adding a few more units to the mid chin area. Sometimes when the muscle is not completely treated, the active part of the muscle tends to "buckle" and therefore look like a bump compared to the rest of the relaxed muscle. Best of luck!

Keep in mind, it can take up to 2 weeks for final results with Botox. However, this may be due to Botox placement and a touch-up may give improvement. If it persists, I recommend following up with your injector. Hope this helps.

You typically will get some injection-site swelling immediately after treatment but this typically lasts just a few minutes.  I would recommend that you follow-up with your provider for a proper evaluation.

That is not a rare occurrence after having Botox injected in your chin. Sometimes adding a drop more can even it out, but sometimes its best to wait until it has worn off.

It most likely is not a problem at all. When botox is injected it begins to relax, but effect begins at about 7 days with full effect at 2 weeks. Concerns in the area are extremely rare and never have lasting consequences. It is a great treatment, hoping the best for you!
