How long after rhinoplasty should one wait to be nasally intubated?

Hello,  At one year post rhinoplasty surgery or post septorhinoplasty surgery, you have completely healed.  You should be fine to be nasally intubated for your genioplasty procedure.  It takes one year for a rhinoplasty to completely mature.  I would suspect that most individuals would be okay to have an endotracheal tube placed through the nose at 12-16 weeks after a rhinoplasty without much rish to the rhinoplasty result.  

Although technically your bones and nasal cartilage have reached 80% of their healing strength by 6-8 weeks, I would wait at least 6 months to be nasally intubated.  At one year you are more than safe.

The nose should be mostly healed after about 2 months.  Ideally, 6 to 12 months should be allowed to allow your nose to heal as much as possible.  Now that you are one year out, nasal intubation can be done safely.Be sure to inform your surgeon and the anesthesiologist about your prior nasal surgery. That information is important for them to know before placing the nasal tube.
