Not draining after surgery. Is this ok?

Check to make sure the drains are not
kinked along the length of the tubing causing obstruction. Strip the JP tubing
to help milk out any clots or obstructions (if present). Make sure your bulbs
are holding suction. If this all looks normal, then it is likely there is not a
problem and you simply have minimal drainage. Usually, when a drain is not
working, the fluid will leak around the exit site causing a mess. Nonetheless,
if they are still dry by morning, then you need to see your plastic surgeon to
assess the drains. Thanks for sharing and have a restful recovery.

I don't use drains with abdominoplasty but when I did, there was no specific anticipated amount of drainage.

Drainage after tummy tuck surgery will vary from one patient to another; make sure that there is no kink in the tubing that exits your skin  and drains into the the bulb.  Also, make sure that the bulb suction device is functioning normally. Otherwise, communicate questions/concerns directly to your plastic surgeon will always be your best resource. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

The amount of drainage expected is quite variable, and expectations are not alway correct. Reassurance that everything is ok is better received from your own surgeon, so any concerns are appropriately directed there. All the best. 

 It is best to contact your surgeon directly to inform him/her of the fact that not much is draining. That can be normal (we don't use drains) but if your surgeon was expecting fluid in the drains and there is nothing there, it could indicate the drains are not funcitoning properly.  It is best to make a phone call and get a direct answer from your surgeon.
