Without an exam your question cannot be answered.  You will need to see an Oral/Maxillofacial surgeon to see if othognathic surgery, genioplasty or using an implant is best for your specific case. It should be noted that patients with severely weak jaws or abnormally functioning jaws may be better treated with other facial surgery (orthognathic surgery), although a chin augmentation may be an option at a later time. These patients should seek the advice of a plastic surgeon to determine which course is right for them. It would be helpful to see a front view so we can see what type of implant would help the profile view and at the same time improve the frontal view - whether your face will be too long, or if you need lengthening from a frontal view. Also would help to see if you need a wide chin or a narrower one.

More photos and a clinical exam are needed to determine what treatment is best. In general, silicone implants placed through a small incision below the chin can improve the profile and provide a more masculine look. The implants are permanent but can easily be removed if your appearance did not meet your expectations. Good luck

Based on this photo it appears that your will benefit from chin augmentation. In person evaluation is necessary to evaluate what type and size of implant you will need to achieve desired improvement. Consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon with good reputation in facial implants should be your next step. Good luck.

It does appear that you do have some recession of your chin and augmentation with an implant would help to balance your profile.  There are many styles and sizes of chin implants and you could discuss your options with the surgeon at that time of your consultation.  

Nothing substitutes for an in person physical exam, but your image does suggest that you may have a weak chin.  I would encourage a formal consultation with an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.  Know that if you are uncertain, soft tissue fillers, such as Radiesse, can be injected to improve chin projection.  It does not provide the same augmentation as an implant, but can give you some sense of what can be achieved.  Sometimes patients are so pleased with the improvement that they prefer fillers to surgery.  Best of luck as you consider your options.

  Yes, from the side profile photograph, there appears to be a weak and recessive chin profile for  which a chin implant can improve.  Chin implants are manufactured large array both shapes and sizes which is usually determined at the time of the consultation and examination.  The implants themselves are usually placed through a small incision underneath the chin under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure.  For many before and after examples, please see the link and the video below

 Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years.  This photo is with your head pointing down which makes the chin and profile look even weaker.  The beard also hides the true chin position.  A true profile photo can be seen in the video.  A proper profile view or in person consultation would quickly reveal whether or not your chin is weak. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin".  
 Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck.  Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision.  
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone).  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.
