As you know the recovery after Implantation does take some time because of the increased tension within the space where the implant is placed, i.e. the gastrocnemius muscles. If the implants are larger the recovery does take longer. I have found in some of my patients that wearing high heeled shoes takes some of the tension of the area. But in any case after a week or so this seems to resolve on its own.
The recovery period of a calf implant surgery takes 3-4 weeks.If you are wearing a moderate heeled shoes you will be able to walk the next day but keep in mind you need to avoid a prolonged walking and work for 3-4 weeks to avoid disappointments.
Even though calf implants are small, their placement under the fascia on top of the muscle make for a harder and longer recovery than one would think. Until you get out a week to ten days, there are no specific exercises that will help. Once you start to feel more comfortable, slowly stretching your calfs on stars by letting the heels drop can be very helpful.

Hello, it sounds like capsular contracture or excessive scar tissue. If you have pain from them they should probably be removed with or without a capsulectomy. Capsulectomy will require a larger incision. to remove. Thanks.
