Can you take any pain medication after your sculptra injections? ( baby aspirin?) Also, i was reading in another forum something about embolism after sculptra buttocks injections? Can that happen? Have there been any deaths with that procedure? Thank you for your time

Hi there! Thank you for your question! pain medication can be taken but I would recommend avoiding anything that may thin the blood such as Ibuprofen. This may increase the chance of bruising in the areas that were injected. As for the embolism, the chances of that happening with Sculptra injections is very rare and I am not aware of any deaths ever from this treatment, however it is very important to go to a skilled injector with many years of experience!

Pain medication that doesn’t thin your blood is fine after Sculptra. However, aspirin is a blood thinner so I’d avoid that to minimize the risk of bruising, and take Tylenol instead for the first 48 hours after your treatment. The risk of an embolism with Sculptra is minute, and with good technique and an expert injector, Sculptra is very safe. Yes, you can take baby aspirin after Sculptra. The risks with Sculptra are very rare. If you remain concerned, I would follow-up with your injector. Keep in mind, the buttocks need numerous vials of Sculptra over time to build volume, and in some instances the results are subtle and will need to be combined with Bellafill, fat or implants to achieve desired results.
