Is it normal to have severe itching 1 day after having the Venus Viva procedure? (photo)

These are all known side effects from the Viva treatment.  Unfortunately in the first 48 hours after a treatment you shouldn't put anything on your skin except cold water and ice packs.  Both of these remedies would help to reduce both the swelling and itching.  After two days, the redness, swelling, and itching should be largely or entirely gone.  Also after two you can begin to use topicals on the skin again.  If the swelling and itching last much longer than two days you should return to your provider for evaluation.  Thanks, Dr. Z.

Good Day. Thank you for your question. I appreciate your uncomfortable feeling from itching, which can be quite anxiety provoking.You did the right thing taking Benadryl 50 mg. You can also repeat this regimen three times a day.It is unusual for my patients having the Venus Viva to experience itching. Pink hue to the skin and mild facial swelling for 1-4 days is expected. The itching may probably means skin dryness.To optimize the treatment outcome and minimize post-treatment erythema (redness), dryness, swelling, and discomfort the following helps: (Sunblock, cold compresses and moisturizers are standard)
1. Patients own serum growth factors from their blood (PRP) immediately after
2. Using Alastin extracellular matrix modulator serum of ten days post-treatment
3.
