You are a good candidate for BFPR (Buccal Fat Pad Removal)When a patient has a full and round face and despite weight loss the fullness persist or if the patient is in his normal weight and the chipmunk faces has stayed all the time, a bichectomy or buccal fat pad removal is useful. It´s true that with aging the buccal fat pad tends to diminish in volume do to atrophy, but if the volume is excessive a bichectomy will not hollow the cheek overtime. Many patients are happy with the results, a proper selection is a very important manner. Usually the procedure takes less than 10 min and you can go homethe same day. You'll be able to go back to work on the 3rd day post-op but 1 week off would be more comfortable. AVARAGE PRICE $500.00
Buccal fat removal is the plastic surgery procedure that helps to achieve a thinner, V-shape more defined lower face. The cost of buccal fat removal varies depending of multiple factors like type of surgeon ( plastic surgeon vs others), experience of the surgeon ( newbie vs experienced), type of anesthesia ( general anesthesia vs local anesthesia) and location of the surgeon ( eg. Alaska vs. New York). In my practice I routinely perform buccal fat removal under pure local anesthesia with no sedation. Therefore, the patients save in the cost of hospital operating room and aneshtesiologist. The cost varies on which location I perform the surgery. .In New York City I charge $4,500. In New Jersey I charge $3,500. Patients interested in chubby cheek correction should make a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon specialist in buccal fat removal.John Mesa MDNew York City and New Jersey Buccal Fat Removal Specialist.
as others have mentioned, there are a number of variables that go into determining the cost of the procedure (anesthesia and facility fee, for example vary geographically). So it's best to do a few consults and see what your doc recommends. I personally like to do them under light sedation, just to minimize discomfort and I find my patients really appreciate it! Best of luck on the procedure. You'll do great.
Cost certainly matters based on what needs to be done, your geography adn the experience of your surgeon. I strongly encourage you to seek a surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I encourage you to have a thourrough discussion about all the options available to you. In some cases, buccal fat reduction may not be the optimal operation. You may be better served by such procedures as liposuction, botox to the masseter muscles, etc. Experience matters! Best,Dr. Gabbay.
The cost will depend on a number of factors including: anesthesia fee, surgeon fee, facility fee, etc. I recommend getting a consultation to discuss your desired results and cost of procedure. I hope this helps.
Dear jessikasatiro, the cost of surgery depends on a lot of factors (type of surgery, number of treated areas, anesthesia fee, surgeon, facility fee, city, etc.). It would be the best to visit or call plastic surgery offices and ask for a price.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Hi @JessiKasatiro!Thanks for the question and sharing the gorgeous pictures. The cost for a Buccal Fat Pad Removal (aka Bichectomy) is around $2,500-3,500. The exact price depends on the amount of surgical work necessary and the overall complexity of your particular case. Each operation is customized to fit your specific needs and the patient care coordinator will provide you with a personalized quote after your consultation and evaluation is complete. To make it easier for patients to pursue their procedure of choice while managing the costs of surgery, many plastics surgeons may accept cosmetic surgery financing from companies such as CareCredit® or ALPHAEON™ Credit.
