Buccal fat pad removal and/or perioral mound liposuction? (Photos)

Buccal fat removal is the plastic surgery procedure that helps to slim down the face to achieve a chiseled facial appearance. The video bellow helps to understand who would be a candidate for buccal fat removal. In patient with good cheek bones and good jaw bone, buccal fat removal could help to accentuate these areas of the face. However, if the cheek bones and the jaw bone are not really prominent. they shall be enhanced at the same time with soft tissue fillers like Voluma or implants. In my practice I recommend patients to start with Voluma because the results are instantaneous and the filler is 100% reversible shall the patient dislike the result (very unlikely since actually patients come back for more filler). The filler is usually placed in the prominence of the cheek bone and the angle of the law to make the face angular and therefore more masculine. Patients interested in chubby cheek correction should make a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon specialist in buccal fat removal.

I think you are a good candidate for buccal fat reduction. That said, it is really important to have an in person evaluation to understand where your facial fullness is coming from. Other procedures that you may want to consider include chin augmentation, chin/neck liposuction, etc. Countering the faces often much more than simply doing one simple procedure. Buccal fat excision is an appropriate surgical procedure for patients that of overly full and wide cheek areas. In common terms, it is good for patients who have chipmunk cheeks. Liposuction can be used to further slim the face. In reviewing your pictures, is difficult to tell if you're a good candidate because your cheek area is slightly full but not overly full. You are a patient that would need and in person consultation for a complete evaluation and explanation of the positives and negatives of this procedure in your situation. Cost is based on many variables and can be discussed at your consultation.

Buccal fat will help delineate your cheekbones and improve the contour in your face.  However, without examining you in person (or at least seeing a video such that I can discern the contours of your face in motion), its hard to say what it would do to your jawline as well.  This is also where the liposuction would come in to play.  As I tell my patients, the best way to understand what kind of result you can expect from buccal fat is to gently suck your cheeks in such that the inside lining just touches the teeth.  If you would be satisfied with what you see, then you'll be happy with buccal fat pad reductions.  That easy.  I hope some of this helps!
