You may benefit from 5FU injections which can lessen hypertrophic scars. I think it is worthwhile to see your surgeon or get a consultation about the scaring 6 months out if you are unhappy.

Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. Hello PD.  Your surgeon is correct in telling you that you will not likely be completely healed until 12 months. With that said, you may want to ask him about the possibility of injecting very small amounts or low doses of Kenalog or another steroid to speed the process or removing the hard scar tissue.  Best of luck.

As you wait another 6 months, scar will be fade away further. If you still wish to revise the scar after another 6 months, you can seek medical advice from medical professionals. Simply removing the small amount of skin includes the scar will resolve the issue.
