There are currently not studies on pregnancy and laser as no one wants to take that risk on finding out. It is recommended not to do laser, however we accidently had a woman here that got laser on her face until 6 months because she didn't not know and the baby and her pregnancy was fine. I would recommend to continue to wait on your laser, but I do think you baby should be fine.Hope that helps!
The issue with laser hair removal during pregnancy is that it hasn't been studied. So we generally tell women to stay away from any lasers when pregnant.
Though there are no direct links, we do not recommend any laser sessions when someone is pregnant or when still breast feeding just to avoid any chances. However, that being said, sometimes people get such laser sessions before realizing they are pregnant even.Recommend discuss with your Obstetrician for further information and reassurance. However, right now the best thing you can do is try to stop worrying, de-stress and get in proper nutrition, no tobacco products , no alcohol, and get in for regular obstetric visits.Babies are actually very resilient even when exposed to known harmful things in utero actually, i.e. Most often having no negative effects, so strongly doubt any issue at all with your unborn baby and laser hair removal sessions....but definitely wait until after delivery and until after breast feeding to complete your sessions. And congratulations on your baby coming soon and hope this has helped ease some of your worries.Dr. Amy
