My practice is now offering Diolaze, a non-invasive procedure, that requires no down time for hair removal. A diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the hair root, which in turn prevents future hair growth. This procedure has one of the largest treatment spot sizes with a built-in skin cooling surface which makes treatment more comfortable than other devices. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone, but each session would probably require 15 minutes. Best results are noted after four to six treatments. Touch-up sessions may be needed as there is no way to rid the body of hair permanently.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Great question and there may be some variability dependent upon equipment utilized which is dependent upon skin type and then handpiece utilized dependent upon area size for an individual since no two people are alike, of course.Given all of the above factors, on average 10-15 min. If one is tolerating the session well and has a seasoned Laser Hair Removal specialist performing the session. There is no such thing as permanently removing all Hair even with multiple treatments, however, after 6-8 sessions, likely touch-ups will only be required approximately once a year.Hope this helps,Dr. Amy
Session times can vary depending on color and coarseness of hair. As a general rule two arms or two legs would take about an hour, underarms about 20-30 minutes, and a smaller area (such as the upper lip or ears) would take about 10 minutes. If it is your first session, you may also want to account for time for a consultation with your provider. I would recommend planning for 1 hour, the actual treatment time will likely be 30-40 min for the pubic area.
Hello, thank you for your question. Laser hair reduction is definitely a series of treatments in order to rid any area of the body of unwanted hair. Usually 6-8 treatments done 4 weeks apart. There is only a small percentage of the total hair follicles in the "growth cycle" at any one time, therefore 1 treatment will not be very effective. The time that it would take to perform the treatment can vary, depending on how the patient can tolerate the heat involved in hair destruction. Laser hair reduction is hot, especially in this area. Normally, it would take about 10-15 minutes, but if the technician has to go slower to allow the patient to tolerate the treatment, it can sometimes be a bit longer. Good Luck!
It should not take more than 15 minutes. Make sure you shave before to cut down on time. After that, it is pretty straight forward. Good luck.
It is okay to have laser hair removal on your face, even if you have an active breakout. However, Minocycline is an antibiotic, which means the medication may cause photo sensitivity. You should not have laser treatments until you are off of the antibiotic for 7 days to avoid any...

Thank you for your question in regards to laser hair removal. Epilating, tweezing and/or waxing is not suggested during laser hair reduction treatments. It is important for the hair follicle to be present at the time of laser to achieve desired results. A series of 6 treatments will typically ...
