I had both lips done and pain on upper lip is almost gone and there was almost no bruising. Bottom lip has some bruising left but one side of bottom lip is very painful it feels like my lip is cracked or very chapped but I cannot see any skin open!

Answer: Swollen after Juvederm It takes two weeks for fillers to fully settle and for swelling /bruising to subside. The lips are very sensitive so to have some discomfort after injections is not out of the ordinary. If you are having concerns i would book a follow up with your injector for an assessment.

Answer: Pain after Juvederm Lip Injection Should Be Evaluated by Injector We tell all of our patients that if they experience pain several days after the injection of fillers, we want to know about it and possibly see it. Pain can mean the beginning of something we do not want, like an infection. In the lips, sometimes, pain like this is not uncommon, so I would recommend returning to your injector and letting them determine which process is going on and if any further treatment, besides ice, is needed.Lips are tricky sites to inject — please make sure that the person injecting is really skilled in this. And as an FYI, all the major fillers — Juvederm, Restylane, and Belotero — can be injected into the lips. Recently, Restylane Silk became approved by the FDA for use in the lips. It is new and will be rolling out to skilled injectors over the next several months.
