Answer: Dysport causing swollen vein? I have never seen a neuromodulator cause a swollen vein. Most often this would represent a small bruise or hematoma of the orbicularis muscle which would be self limited. Cosmetic doses of Dysport, Botox or Xeomin rarely spread beyond the muscle that they are injected into. Systemic side effects typically require about 10 times the dose used for wrinkles. Definitely followup with your physician injector if you continue to be concerned. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Dysport is an extremely safe drug, don't worry An enlarged vessel around the eye was probably there before. Dysport shouldn't cause an issue, even if injected into a vessel. It might cause a bruise around a vessel. "Horror Stories" are usually related to either a poor injector, side effects unrelated to the injection but attributed by the patient to Dysport, or use of a counterfeit drug. Dysport is very safe and there is no sense worrying at this point.
