The lumps on the side of  the bridge of the nose or the junction between the bone and cartilage, also known as a hump. This can be shaved down for cosmetic purposes and has no relation to a postnasal drip or runny nose. Postnasal drip and runny nose is treated medically, not surgically with nasal sprays, antihistamines and decongestants. There are many reasons why patients cannot breathe out of  their nose which include a deviated septum, broken nose, allergies, sinus polyps, valve collapse, vestibular stenosis, and a multitude of other reasons. Each one of these is treated differently with either  medications or surgery. It's important to have an examination of the internal and external portion of the nose by  a board-certified ENT/ facial plastic surgeon to straighten out the multitude of issues you're having. Endoscopic sinus surgery is performed to remove sinus polyps, only after medical documentation has been made and a CAT scan  has been performed of the sinuses.
