Hello!Thank you for your questionAs far as I can understand from your question we do not recommend local anesthesia, general anesthesia is the most reliable methodIt would be better face to face consultationBest Regards!
If someone has an isolated problem with wide flaring nostrils, alarplasty may be performed with local anesthesia in an office setting. Sutures are typically removed one week after surgery and there is little inconvenience or downtime. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr Joseph
Providing that nostril reduction with wedge excision is the only procedure that you need, it can be done in local anesthesia. It is always best to discuss this issue with your surgeon. Good luck.
Absolutely YES, local is the anesthetic of choice for isolated nostril reduction. Markings for the procedure should precede administration of anesthetic to assure accuracy and symmetry prior to swelling and irregularity caused by the injections.
Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us the degree of the reduction. It may be possible if it is a small reduction.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
Hello and thank you for your question. Although it is possible to perform alar base reduction under local anesthesia, most patients are not a good candidate for this type of procedure. It often causes alar retraction and notching of the ala when done as an isolated procedure. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Nostril reduction can easily be performed under local anesthesia, if it is an isolated procedure. There us no need fir general anesthesia. Good luck!
