What can I do for better circulation and healing for the tip of my 8 months nose post-rhinoplasty?

I had a septoplasty in 2019 and then had another septoplasty/rhinoplasty in 2021. Once the cast came of, I noticed the tip was red and irritated. 8 months later the shape of my nose looks good, but the tip looks blueish - especially when it's cold out. It seems to be a vascular problem. When I touch the tip the color blanches. My doctor suggested BBL. I was wondering what else i can do? Will it heal on its own?

Hi Celebrated5879!  Likely if your tip turns blue in cold weather, blood flow has decreased to the area.  Hyperbaric oxygen is a great modality--this can deliver more oxygen to the tissues allowing them to heal. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Hi there! If your tip turns blue in cold weather, it likely means the blood flow has decreased to the area. Options would include temporalis fascia injected with microfat. This helps to deliver stem cells and growth factors while thickening the skin. The results can be quite nice. Or, hyperbaric oxygen is another option. This can deliver more oxygen to the tissues allowing them to heal. Some will simply observe and avoid any temperature extremes. Hope this helps!
