Can SMP in the sideburns cause a small bald patch next day?

I had my scalp micropigmetation third and final session and I had some ink placed in my sideburns area as well just to thicken them up a little. I noticed next day that on my left sideburn there is a small bald patch now that was never there before. Its about half a cm in diameter. Could this be from the smp needle causing some sort of shedding reaction due to stress and or inflammation? And how long before the hair regrows. Thank you.

Scalp Micropigmentation SMP does not affect transplanted hair or harm existing hairs.  It should not harm hairs, but there are so many people offering SMP the quality and and the techniques may be different.

mikedavis84,It is hard to damage follicles if the smp is done in the standard manner. The needle used is tiny and the depth is very shallow reaching only into the dermis. The question Dr Rassman asked is an important one because sometimes it is the epinephrine in the local anesthetic that can shock weak hair in the area.

Speak with your doctor, the doctor who did the SMP and ask that question. Did you have anesthesia as that is important information to have for me
