I wasn't required to get massages after Laser Lipo it was only suggested. From what I have read it helps with the healing process but will my results still come out ok if I don't get the massages? I'm 3 weeks out from my procedure and have not got any massages and have barely massage myself because it feels so weird and strange to touch. I have lumps as I know that is normal but I would like to know what will happen if I choose not to get massages.
Answer: Do massages help after liposuction? There is no scientific evidence that massages actually help after any type of liposuction . But having performed thousands of liposuctions it is my opinion that it definitely does and I encourage patients to get it . I find it helps smoothing things out and patients tend to recover quicker . I offer three free massages after any liposuction procedure now . Best Regards,Dr. Michael Gartner

Answer: Post Lipo - Lymphatic Massage, Hyperbaric Oxygen, RF (Venus Legacy, Exilis, Vanquish, InMode Forma), Cellutone/Z Wave/Evive results are impacted in my opinion especially with energy devices with the post care.If you are unhappy with your results please speak to your physician and ensure he was a full body VASER HD liposuction physciain wtih expensive experience in body shaping and not just traditional fat reduction. At this point you should be using compression, RF treatments like venus legacy / exilis ultra / inmode forma or contoura and lymphatic massage to get you through healing. We always add shock wave therapy such as cellutone, z wave, and eclipse evive to help prvent scar tissue formation and ensure an even and smooth result. It will take 6-12 months to see the final outcome. If you are unhappy you can get a revision procedure by an expert in VASER HD lipo. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Ask your cosmetic surgeon for massage guidelines. Hi there, and thanks for your question. Massage after laser liposuction isn’t necessarily required, and every cosmetic surgeon is going to have a slightly different preference for post-lipo massage and techniques. So your best bet is to ask your cosmetic surgeon what his or her take on the subject is. Keep in mind that at just three weeks out, you’re not seeing your final results yet and some unevenness is normal at this stage.

Answer: Massage after LaserLipo Great question! Obviously you want the very best result possible and LaserLipo is such a great treatment for permanently removing fat and also tightening the skin. I find that not getting or doing massage will not affect your final result. The short term result may look better since the massage is helping to break up some of the lumpiness that you are noticing. Some patients like the feeling of massage but others will feel some discomfort by doing this. So the important thing is to remember that at the end of 6 months, the result will look the same whether or not massage is used. Best wishes, Mary Beth Mudd

Answer: Massage after liposuction Thank you for your question. Every surgeon has their post operative protocols. Some will tell you massage is a must, others believe it is less important. In my experience, post lipo massage can make or break your results. If you have uneven lumps and bumps, massage can be very helpful. Additionally, it often alleviates post operative pain and aids the healing process. Is it necessary? no, but I definitely recommend it to all of my patients.
