Thanks for your questions! Unfortunately, serious complications after getting Biogel injections may occur right away or could develop weeks, months, or even years later. Therefore, it is important that patients who have had Biogel and/or other non-FDA approved filler injections for body contouring (even without any manifestation of adverse effects) consult with an experienced plastic surgeon to be evaluated and discuss their particular condition and potential risks for complications. In the future, if you have any symptoms or reactions, you should not go back to the non-medical professionals who administered the harmful Biogel injections. An Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan may be necessary to determine the location of the injected material. The treatment varies from patient to patient, since no two cases are exactly the same.
