I got a 5mm lip implant in my upper lip. I almost didn't get it because I thought it would look too big or fake. Instead, it didn't really make a difference. Maybe bc it's placed at the wetdry border. Idk. I want a very prominent, pouty upper lip. If I remove the implant, how soon can I start getting the silicone microdroplet injections? Because wouldn't a tunnel have been created? I want the product to evenly distrubute. Will it look weird because I've had the implant? Seems like my only option
Answer: Solid lip implants and permanent fillers I would recommend that you wait several months for the lip to settle down before having additional lip augmentation. I have published several articles in the past regarding lip implants. My advice would be to make sure you see an expert in your area and also you might give consideration to leaving your current implant in position as long as it is not causing any issues and then additional additional filler to your lips. Also, it may be beneficial to use a temporary filler first like restylane or juvederm to make sure you like that look of additional pout before adding the permanent filler. Good luck in your area.

Answer: Depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 lip injections may be considered with your implant in place. You appear to have a nice upper lip appearance with your implant. We have added Silikon-1000 for additional volume on top of permalip done elsewhere without incident. You may wish to remove your upper lip implant if it looks visible with smiling or if it feels uncomfortable. If you have the implant removed, microdroplet silicone lip injections could be considered after your swelling dissipates, roughly 1-3 months post-removal.Hope this helps you.Dr. Joseph

Answer: Avoid Silicone Lip Injection After you have your implant removed, I would wait 3 to 6 months prior to having any further augmentation. I have seen several patients through the years that have had silicone injected into their lips and the appearance is less than desirable (irregular, lumpy appearance). Hyaluronic acid fillers are your best bet for augmentation purposes. When performed on a regular basis there can be a lasting effect lengthening the time between injections.

Answer: Lip augmentation, permanent or temporary I would suggest leaving the lip implant in place. Though it may seem like it has not really done anything to enhance your lip, it likely has helped augment the lip. Since the implant is causing you no issues I would suggest simply building on the lip augmentation that the silicone implant has already started. I would also recommend using a temporary filler in the lips like Juvederm, prior to having anything permanent injected in the lips. Some of the most difficult corrections of the lip that I have had to perform are from the use of purified silicone injections to the lips. You will need injections to the body of the lip and not the wet/dry border in order to create the pouty effect you desire.

Answer: Filler into Lip After Implant I would wait at least 3 months before getting any filler placed. Also make sure to go to someone experienced before getting silicone placed. My suggestion would be to avoid any permanent fillers if possible and try something like perlane or voluma for a more "pouty" lip. I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.
