When I smile my face seems to be going sideways. It looks like it's sliding. Sometime I can feel the left side of my face dropping or numb. I don't know if it's due because I'm paranoid or overthinking it. I also here a clicking sound when I open my mouth wide enough.
Answer: Facial Contouring with Fillers (Juvederm Voluma, Vollure, Volbella, Radiesse, Bellafil), Sculptra, Fat Grafting, Implants Facial sculpting and contouring can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Countour, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra, which would give improvement in facial balance. Fat or implants are alternatives. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Nonsurgical Cheek Augmentation Can Help To Contour The Face & Promote Greater Symmetry & Balance The frontal photo provided certainly seems to indicate an asymmetry--with the lower left side of the face appearing somewhat more depressed and angling inward when compared to the lower right. (Parenthetically, total symmetry between the sides of our faces may be an ideal, but in my experience, upon closer examination, is seldom present in most of us.)That being said, the degree of difference between the two sides of the lower portion of the face in the photo seem rather evident and is likely due differences in the underlying bone structure and fat pads and perhaps even in the muscles in the region. The appropriate use of as injectable volumizing filler to the lower left cheek region would be helpful for balancing the volume and lateral projection on that side with that of the opposite side. Since the right posterior angle of the jaw region seems quite well defined, it would probably be helpful to also supply additional volume to the left side in that same region to create sharper definition to the angle. In my Upper East Side Manhattan office, I would opt for Voluma XC for the purposes above. In my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved volumizing fillers are available, I would choose Stylage XXL for the left lower cheek and Emervel Volume for the posterior angle area.Be sure to see a board certified aesthetic physician with expertise and experience in nonsurgical facial augmentation and rejuvenation with injectable fillers. And also be sure to ask to see his/her before and after photos. Good luck.

Answer: Facial Asymmetry You do have facial asymmetry caused primarily by the left side of your jaw being smaller/thinner. That may also be the source of the disc in the TMJ areas slipping and popping due to the jaw differences. From an aesthetic standpoint the left side of the jaw could be build out with a jaw angle implant.
