This type of facial/jaw asymmetry is very common and considered normal. Reason for that can be either hypertrophic masseter muscle, hypetrophic bone or both.Without clinical evaluation it is impossible to give you good advice. If muscle hypertrophy turns to be dominant contributing factor treatment with Botox may create selective muscle atrophy (decrease size of muscle) and improve symmetry. You need to consult a board plastic surgeon or a maxillo-facial (oral) surgeon for detailed clinical evaluation and discuss your options. Good luck.
Jawline can be treated with liposuction, implants, botox injections. I suggest you see an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.
The asymmetry of your jawline needs to be evaluated by a 3D CT scan. That will show its exact shape and what approach for correction can be considered for it.
Hi, from the photos, the cheeks are flat anteriorly (in ther front), there is fat in front and below the cheeks, the chan and mandibular angles are both weak. When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance that makes the nose appear larger, the lower faceshort and the mid face appear top heavy. Chin augmentation, using a chinimplant, will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to thelower face. I have found placing a silastic chin implant through a small, curved, incisions under the chin to be very safe, quick, highly effective andfar less invasive than a sliding genioplasty that requires bone cuts withplacement of screws and metal plates. Following the beauty principlesoutlined in my book on face and body beauty, male faces look ruggedly handsomewhen there is angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. Inaddition to chin augmentation, cheek augmentation with either a dermal filleror cheek implants (for a permanent enhancement) will add angularity to thecheeks. Mandibular angle augmentation with a dermal filler (jaw implantsIMHO have too many unwanted side effects) will add volume, angularity and flareto the jaw line.Hope this helps.
Surgical reduction of the lower half of the masseter muscles is best done by electrocautery through intraoral incisions as opposed to actually trying to cut out the muscle. By cauterizing the internal surface of the face, some permanent loss of muscle mass results from the thermal injury...
This would need a surgical approach and honestly I feel would make you look less masculine. I suggest a formal facial sculpting evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.
This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry...
