Is this normal after a peel? (photo)

I had a chemical peel done for pigmentation for the first time two days ago. My face is extremely swollen and red... I was told it should start peeling by now but it hasn't. Is this normal?

Vi peel on the face would be safe in a diabetic. The circulation to the face is excellent and will not effect helaing.
