Dissatisfied with Alarplasty result. Any suggestions? (photos)

3 Weeks ago I had an alarplasty performed as a stand alone procedure. While the nostrils have been reduced in circumference slightly I am dissatisfied with the asymmetry and was hoping for more. The inside dis solvable sutures did not hold well and now there are some wide gaps inside each nostril. Scaring at the bottom is also not ideal (although early days) Am I being unrealistic? or should I consider a revision after 6 months? Thank you for your thoughts

Sometimes an alar base reduction is all that is needed but other patients should also have a narrowing of the tip. I need to see pictures of your nose to make specific recommendations for you but any experienced rhinoplasty specialist can individualize the procedure to provide a natural result.

An alar plasty and a tip plasty are 2 completely different procedures.  It is best to ask your operative surgeon  what their postoperative restrictions are. An alar plasty incision can be placed on the inside of the nostrils or at the junction of the  nostril. It really depends...
