Can I use vitamin C with my PRP facial?

Question

Hey so I’ve been doing my own PRP facials via microneedeling with the depth at around 2mm...and I've just gotten some powered vitamin C, which is like to use with my PRP facial and I’m wondering if they will work together effectively with the microneedlong?

Thank you for your question.  I suggest you use a hyaluranic acid serum or hydrating serum for glide when doing microneedling.  You can use the vitamin C serum 3 days post treatment to help as an antioxidant.  
The science behind microneedling, you are using a tool to create a controlled trauma to your skin.  Your body's natural response to this trauma is to repair it with the production of new collagen and elastin fibers.  Think of these microneedling wholes you are creating as tunnels into the skin.  The only products I would suggest to use to put into these channels would be hyaluranic acid or hydrating serum.  These two ingredients will help to hydrate and plum the skin cells to aid in recovery.  Vitamin C directly into these channels could cause irritation.  Vitamin C is a natural skin brightener and free radical fighter best to be used a few days after treatment.  
I also have to recommend that microneedling be a treatment done in a medical spa or doctors office under the care of a certified/specialized provider.  This is a treatment if done wrong can cause more harm than good.  Plus the technology used by a professional will give you superior results to anything used at home.

Wow, 2 mm is super deep, one can get an endpoint at 0.25 mm. Just be careful you don't track with that depth! Personally, as a specialist I go to 0.5 max. If performed carefully you can get into the dermis at 1/10 the depth you are using. OK, as to your question, powdered Vitamin C not a good idea. You have to use one that is BIOCOMPATIBLE with your deeper layers of your skin. If you use powers you have the risk of granulomas (google this), so please stay safe.
