If that ridge of cartilage troubles you it can be removed/ smoothed with an in office procedure. The good news is that the size/ shape of your ears are otherwise completely normal. Every surgeon LOVES performing otoplasty procedures but you should seek out someone who performs alot of otoplasty and has many great before and after results. That extra cartilage is called a Stahl's ear deformity. If it is caught in a new born baby it is possible to mould it into a normal looking ear. As an adult you will need surgery to get rid of it. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon.

This is a very difficult problem to remedy. A surgeon might consider removing the permanent sutures to alleviate the pain. The two risks of doing this are that you might have no improvement in your pain (or possibly worsening) and your ears might re-protrude after suture removal. I hope this...

At this point in the healing process, this swelling could be normal, but a doctor can confirm this by palpation and/or needle aspiration. I would recommend going back to the doctor ASAP for confirmation.
